Severe Police Shortages Amid Rising Crime: Udhayanidhi Demands Expediting Police Recruitment

Pointing to mounting vacancy levels across police stations in Tamil Nadu even as violent crime and narcotics cases escalate, Udhayanidhi Stalin criticized the administration for postponing scheduled police constable and sub-inspector recruitment drives for another year. Overburdened personnel and severe staff shortages are crippling ground-level policing and investigation quality. Udhayanidhi demanded that the government immediately issue recruitment notifications to fill thousands of policing vacancies.
