Restoring 7.315 km of Buckingham Canal

A ₹31 crore rehabilitation project was launched for 7.315 km of the Central Buckingham Canal running from Lock Nagar/Sivananda Salai towards R.A. Puram. Desilted to one metre additional depth to expand stormwater carrying capacity to 2,500 cubic feet per second across Chepauk, Triplicane, Mylapore, and Mandaveli.
