Beloved party siblings, dearer than life itself to Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar, I extend my first greetings, gratitude, and love to all of you. Yesterday, I campaigned and gathered votes for our winning candidate, Tmt. Suganya, and today I have come here to Maduranthakam asking for your votes for our winning candidate, Thiru Paranthaman. Looking at your enthusiasm and passion, it is certain that this time the Rising Sun will win in Maduranthakam; I have developed that kind of confidence. Before that, one small matter. Today is the 27th of September. I do not wish to remind you of what happened on this same date, this same September 27th, last year. All of you will remember it. A tragic incident that none of us can ever forget took place in Karur. You know who was responsible: someone set out saying he was going to campaign, arrived nearly 10 hours late, made the people who were there stand out in the scorching heat without even giving them drinking water, without even arranging toilet facilities, created a massive crowd crush, climbed onto the stage and climbed onto the vehicle to sing songs, and caused nearly 41 people to die. The person responsible for that incident did not even offer a word of comfort to the victims after the tragedy, did not even look back, went from Karur to Tiruchirappalli, and from there fled to Chennai. Today he may have become the Chief Minister. But hereafter, he will not be able to sleep peacefully for even a single day in his life thinking of this incident. When he left Karur, nearly 20 people had died right there while he was speaking. But he did not care about any of that. He took his vehicle and drove off. At the Tiruchirappalli airport, members of the public and journalists stopped him. They asked: "Sir, 20 people have died, sir." Did he answer that? Did he take responsibility? Did he express regret? No. Today he may express condolences, he has become Chief Minister and may express condolences, but did he express them on that day? No. After that, he went from Tiruchirappalli to the airport in Chennai, and at the Chennai airport journalists and members of the public asked: "Sir, 20 people had died there, now that has increased and nearly 40 people have died, 41 people including 10 children have died, please answer, sir." Did he turn around and answer? Without answering there either, he ran away. He ran away... that is how the leader was, that was the leader's caliber. The senior ministers who were with him then, who are here now, all of them went into hiding for nearly 40 days. No one even turned up to look toward the hospital. Do you know who went and stood there? Our leader, the then Chief Minister, our leader went and stood there. At that time, I was out of town with my family. I left immediately, went to Karur, and consoled the people there. Not just our leader, not just me, all our former ministers, members of the legislative assembly, party cadre, and even senior functionaries belonging to the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam came and consoled those people. But did the person responsible for those deaths, or that crowd, come there and take responsibility? Even to this day, they have not. Do you know what our leader magnanimously said even then? Our leader magnanimously said, "No leader would want their cadre to die, so let us not politicise this." He announced a special team. But what did they say? They said, "If the state government announces a special team, we will not accept it; we want a CBI probe," and demanded it. Today, it is because that CBI probe is in Delhi that this dummy Chief Minister is sitting as the number one slave to the BJP. The day before yesterday, the Chief Minister came here; he came for campaigning. Did you all watch it on television? Did you listen to what he spoke? I never listen to it. Some of my friends ask: "Listen, the Chief Minister is speaking today, did you hear it?" I reply: "Why, whenever he speaks he says the same thing, we can see it tomorrow." What he spoke here was the same thing too. In Maduranthakam the day before yesterday, he spoke for nearly 30 minutes. We counted; in 30 minutes, 34 times he said "DMK, DMK, DMK", nothing else. In Tamil 34 times DMK, and in English just once DMK. Because he knows English. For the past two and a half years, ever since he launched his party, it has been the same script. A worn-out record, a broken tape recorder. Whenever you switch it on: DMK, DMK. For anything and everything: DMK. Saying "Om Sakthi, Parasakthi", abusing the DMK, he goes around speaking everywhere today. Today, back then he was in the opposition. We were the ruling party, and we listened responsibly. Now it is our turn. Now should we give it back or not? Shall we give it back? I will say it, and you respond: Om Kali, Jai Kali! Say it again: Om Kali, Jai Kali! Do not say his name, he will cry. He will scold me for that too. Just say his party's name. Om Kali, Jai Kali! That is all, this election is over. From now on, whenever a DMK member holds any meeting or campaigns anywhere, say this first, and only then proceed to the next task. Will you do it? Will you definitely do it? Today, the assembly by-elections in Maduranthakam and Dharapuram are on the 6th. The general election concluded just recently; only four months have passed. The election concluded on the 23rd of April. Now why did this by-election come? Did this by-election occur naturally? Who imposed this by-election? Who is responsible for this by-election? For a party to form the government, at least 118 members of the legislative assembly must win. There are 234 constituencies in total, and in that 118 MLAs must win. The troupe that is in power now won only 107 seats. The people did not give full support to this regime; they did not give an absolute majority. They gave only 107 seats. Then how did they form the government? By begging alms from us, on the alms given by our leader, on the alms given by the DMK, relying on the DMK's votes, relying on the hard work of our party cadre, showing our leader's face, seeking votes citing the achievements of the Dravidian model governance and winning, today those who were in alliance with us have crossed over to that side and extended support to them. What did they say? Saying that Governor's rule should not come, that fresh elections should not take place, some leaders and alliance parties told our leader before leaving. But a faction of traitors, without telling our leader, without even telling us, slipped away stealthily overnight. You know who they are. Whatever time comes, those who betrayed us should neither be forgotten nor forgiven. I have full faith that you will definitely neither forget nor forgive. That was how he came to power. Was he satisfied even with that? No. At any moment the alliance parties might break away. Why, right now here in Maduranthakam, the Communist party that was in alliance is standing in opposition to the ruling party. What is the Communist party saying? They have entered the electoral fray telling people not to vote for the TVK candidate, not to vote for the ruling party. What greater disgrace could there be for a ruling party? As if this were not enough, as soon as he formed the government, he carried a sofa set and went to the house of each leader like a delivery boy. One should not speak of a Chief Minister so harshly, whatever the case. He himself does not believe it yet. Coming to Maduranthakam the day before yesterday, he asks: "Why, should I not become the Chief Minister?" He himself still cannot believe that he has become Chief Minister! Then what did he do? He secretly met some legislative assembly members belonging to the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, split it into two, and bought nearly 7 MLAs from there. Now, out of those 7 assembly constituencies, by-elections are taking place in these two constituencies. Before forming the government, what promises did he make? Do you know what he said during the campaign? He said that the very minute he came to power, the Women's Basic Income would not be Rs. 1,000, he would raise and provide Rs. 2,500—did he provide it? He did not provide it. He said he would provide 6 gas cylinders to every household the very minute he came to power—did he provide them? He did not provide them. He said that the very minute he came to power, he would provide Rs. 4,500 to educated, unemployed youth—did he provide it? He did not provide it. He said he would waive crop loans for all farmers—did he do it? He did not do it at all. Without doing any of these, our leader clearly said: he claims the contest is between only two, one is DMK and one is TVK. In his style, in his language, in a way he understands, I say: yes, under this regime the contest is between only two. One is power cut, and the other is machete cut! There is no electricity even in the Chief Minister's constituency. There is no electricity in Perambur. From the first day this regime took power, the people of Perambur have been coming out onto the streets every day with their families and protesting. For those who were paying electricity bills of Rs. 600, it has now increased fourfold. There is no electricity at meetings attended by ministers; they are running them on generators. What state is law and order in? In the four months since coming to power, 500 murders have taken place across Tamil Nadu so far. In Coimbatore alone, 10 murders occurred in the single month that just passed. There is absolutely no safety for women. The day before yesterday in Vandalur, a female student studying in tenth standard was sexually assaulted. When her parents went to file a complaint, they forced them to write: "This is not sexual assault, write that a snake bit her." Today in Maduranthakam, a disabled female student has been sexually assaulted. Do you all see what goes on in the legislative assembly? There is no speech in the assembly, only singing. All the ruling party MLAs sing songs. Ministers sing songs. When one goes to complain to the Speaker, he sings songs too. I told them: "This does not look like a legislative assembly at all; you are running it like a Super Singer show," and walked out. One MLA asks: "Honourable Chief Minister, I had no job, you gave me a job; I had no house, you bought me a house; I had no car, you gave me a car too; now I have suffered a big heartbreak in love, you must arrange something for that." In response to that, one MLA stands up and says, "Manmatha thanks to the Chief Minister." Truly, all of this actually happened in the assembly. Recently, the Ranipet MLA stood up and said, "There is a massive tyre factory in my constituency, a lot of smoke is emitted, and the environment is affected." The Minister for Environment said, "I will inspect it in person." The Minister for Industries said, "Do not shut down the factory." Then when they went and saw what factory was there, it was a puncture repair shop! They debate for an hour in the assembly about a puncture repair shop. During the Police Demand for Grants, I spoke for 32 minutes and asked 16 questions. As the Speaker cornered the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister got scared, said "I will answer on Monday," and fled. This is how the assembly is being run. And then there is a Sanghi minister in the assembly. At least to handle that Sanghi minister, you must vote for Paranthaman and send him to the assembly. Will you do it? Is victory certain? The election is on the coming 6th. There are 8 days left. Each of you must campaign during these 8 days. You campaign explaining why one must vote for Paranthaman on the Rising Sun symbol in Maduranthakam, and why a lesson must be taught to the ruling party. Greater than in Dharapuram, Paranthaman's victory in Maduranthakam by a wide margin of votes is a certainty. Thank you, Vanakkam.

முத்தமிழறிஞர் கலைஞருடைய உயிரினும் மேலான அன்பு உடன்பிறப்புகளே, அத்தனை பேருக்கும் முதற்கண் வணக்கத்தையும் நன்றியையும் அன்பையும் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். நேற்று பிரச்சாரத்தில் ஈடுபட்டு நம்முடைய வெற்றி வேட்பாளர் திருமதி சுகன்யா அவர்களுக்கு வாக்கு சேகரித்துவிட்டு, இன்றைக்கு மதுராந்தகத்தில நம்முடைய வெற்றி வேட்பாளர் திரு பரந்தாமன் அவர்களுக்கு உங்களிடத்திலே வாக்கு கேட்டு வந்திருக்கிறேன். உங்களுடைய எழுச்சியையும் உணர்வையும் பார்க்கும்போது நிச்சயம் இந்த முறை மதுராந்தகத்தில உதயசூரியன் வெற்றி பெறப்போவது உறுதி; அப்படிப்பட்ட நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு வந்திருக்கு. அதற்கு முன்பு ஒரு சின்ன விஷயம். இன்னைக்கு செப்டம்பர் 27-ஆம் தேதி. போன வருஷம் இதே தேதியில, இதே செப்டம்பர் 27-ஆம் தேதி என்ன நடந்தது என்பதை நான் உங்களுக்கு நினைவுபடுத்த விரும்பல. உங்க அத்தனை பேருக்கும் நினைவுல இருக்கும். நாம அத்தனை பேராலும் மறக்க முடியாத ஒரு சோக நிகழ்ச்சி கரூர்ல நடந்தது. பிரச்சாரம் பண்ண போறேன்னு சொல்லி ஒருத்தர் கிளம்பிப் போயி, கிட்டத்தட்ட 10 மணி நேரம் தாமதமா போயி, அங்க இருக்கக்கூடிய மக்களையெல்லாம் வெயில்ல நிக்க வச்சு, குடிக்கத் தண்ணி கூட கொடுக்காம, ஒரு கழிவறை வசதி கூட செஞ்சு கொடுக்காம, மிகப்பெரிய ஒரு மக்கள் நெருக்கடியை ஏற்படுத்தி, மேடையில ஏறி வண்டி மேல ஏறி பாட்டுப் பாடி, கிட்டத்தட்ட 41 பேர் இறப்பதற்கு காரணமாக இருந்தது யார் என்பது உங்களுக்குத் தெரியும். அப்படி அந்தச் சம்பவத்துக்குக் காரணமான ஒருத்தர், அந்தச் சம்பவத்திற்குப் பிறகு கூட பாதிக்கப்பட்டவங்களுக்கு ஒரு ஆறுதல் கூட சொல்லாம, திரும்பிக் கூட பார்க்காம, கரூர்ல இருந்து திருச்சிக்குப் போயி அங்கிருந்து சென்னைக்கு ஓடிப்போனார். இன்னைக்கு அவரு முதலமைச்சர் ஆயிருக்கலாம். ஆனா இனிமே அவர் வாழ்க்கையில ஒரு நாள் கூட நிம்மதியா இந்தச் சம்பவத்தை நினைச்சு தூங்க முடியாது. அவரு கரூர்ல இருந்து கிளம்பும்போது கிட்டத்தட்ட 20 பேர் அவரு பேசிக்கிட்டு இருக்கும்போதே அங்க இறந்து போனாங்க. ஆனா அதைப் பத்தியெல்லாம் அவரு கவலைப்படல. வண்டி எடுத்துட்டு கிளம்பிட்டாரு. திருச்சி விமான நிலையத்துல பொதுமக்களும் பத்திரிகையாளர்களும் தடுத்து நிப்பாட்டுனாங்க. கேள்வி கேட்டாங்க: "சார், 20 பேர் இறந்து போயிட்டாங்க சார்"னு. அதுக்கு பதில் சொன்னாரா? பொறுப்பேத்துக்கிட்டாரா? ஒரு வருத்தம் தெரிவிச்சாரா? இல்ல. இன்னைக்கு இரங்கல் தெரிவிக்கலாம், முதலமைச்சர் ஆயிட்டாரு இரங்கல் தெரிவிக்கலாம், ஆனா அன்னைக்கு தெரிவிச்சாரா? இல்ல. அதன் பிறகு திருச்சியிலிருந்து சென்னைக்கு விமான நிலையத்துல போயி, சென்னை விமான நிலையத்துல பத்திரிகையாளர்களும் பொதுமக்களும் கேக்குறாங்க: "சார், 20 பேர் அங்க இறந்திருந்தாங்க, இப்போ அது அதிகமாகி கிட்டத்தட்ட 40 பேர் இறந்திருக்காங்க, 10 குழந்தைகள் உள்ளிட்ட 41 பேர் இறந்திருக்காங்க, பதில் சொல்லுங்க சார்"னு கேள்வி கேட்டாங்க. திரும்பி பதில் சொன்னாரா? அங்கேயும் பதில் சொல்லாம ஓடிப் போயிட்டாரு. அவரு ஓடிப் போனாரு... தலைவர் அப்படி, தலைவர் அந்த லட்சணம். அவரு கூட இருந்தாங்கல்ல, இப்ப இருக்காங்கல்ல மூத்த அமைச்சர்கள், அத்தனை பேரும் கிட்டத்தட்ட 40 நாள் தலைமறைவாயிட்டாங்க. யாரும் வந்து எட்டி கூட பார்க்கல மருத்துவமனை பக்கம். அங்க போய் நின்னது யாரு தெரியுமா? நம்முடைய தலைவர், அப்போது இருக்கக்கூடிய முதலமைச்சர் நம்முடைய தலைவர் போய் நின்னாரு. நான் அப்போ என்னோட குடும்பத்தோட வெளியூர்ல இருந்தேன். உடனடியாகக் கிளம்பி வந்து கரூருக்குப் போயி அங்க இருக்கக்கூடிய மக்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொன்னேன். தலைவர் மட்டுமல்ல, நான் மட்டுமல்ல, நம்முடைய அனைத்து முன்னாள் அமைச்சர்கள், சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள், கழகத்தினர், ஏன் அண்ணா திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மூத்த நிர்வாகிகள் எல்லாம் வந்து அந்த மக்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொன்னாங்க. ஆனா அந்த இறப்புக்கு காரணமான ஒருத்தரோ, அந்த கும்பலோ அங்க வந்து பொறுப்பேத்துக்குச்சா? இப்ப வரைக்கும் கிடையாது. நம்முடைய தலைவர் அப்ப கூட பெருந்தன்மையா என்ன தெரியுமா சொன்னாரு? "எந்த தலைவரும் தன்னுடைய தொண்டர்கள் இறப்பதை விரும்ப மாட்டாங்க, அதனால இத அரசியல் செய்ய வேணாம்" அப்படின்னு நம்முடைய தலைவர் பெருந்தன்மையா சொன்னாரு. ஒரு ஸ்பெஷல் டீம் அறிவிச்சாரு. ஆனா இவங்க என்ன சொன்னாங்க? "மாநில அரசு ஸ்பெஷல் டீம் அறிவிச்சா நாங்க ஏத்துக்க மாட்டோம், எங்களுக்கு சிபிஐ விசாரணை வேணும்"னு கேட்டு வாங்குனாங்க. இன்னைக்கு அந்த சிபிஐ விசாரணை டெல்லியில இருக்கிறதுனால தான் பா.ஜ.க.வுக்கு ஒரு ஒண்ணாம் நம்பர் அடிமையாக இன்னைக்கு இந்த டம்மி முதலமைச்சர் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார். நேற்று முன் தினம் இங்க முதலமைச்சர் வந்தாரு, பிரச்சாரத்துக்கு வந்தாரு. நீங்க எல்லாம் தொலைக்காட்சியில பார்த்தீங்களா? அவரு என்ன பேசுனாருன்னு கேட்டீங்களா? நான் கேக்குறதே கிடையாது. என் நண்பர்கள் யாராவது கேட்பாங்க: "என்னங்க, முதலமைச்சர் இன்னைக்கு பேசிட்டு இருக்காரு கேட்டீங்களா?"ன்னு. நான் சொல்லுவேன்: "ஏம்பா, அவரு எப்ப பேசினாலும் ஒண்ணு தான் பேசுவாரு, நாளைக்கு பாத்துக்கலாம்"னு. இங்க பேசுனதும் அதே தான். மதுராந்தகத்துல நேற்று முன்தினம் கிட்டத்தட்ட 30 நிமிஷம் பேசி இருக்காரு. கணக்கெடுத்துப் பார்த்தோம்; 30 நிமிஷத்துல 34 முறை "திமுக, திமுக, திமுக", வேற எதுவும் கிடையாது. தமிழ்ல 34 முறை திமுக, இங்கிலீஷ்ல ஒரே ஒரு வாட்டி DMK. ஏன்னா அவருக்கு இங்கிலீஷ் தெரியும். கடந்த ரெண்டரை வருஷமா அவரு கட்சி ஆரம்பிச்சதுல இருந்து ஒரே ஸ்கிரிப்ட் தான். தேஞ்சு போன ரெக்கார்டு, உடைஞ்சு போன டேப் ரிக்கார்டர். எப்ப சுவிட்ச் ஆன் பண்ணாலும் திமுக, திமுக. எதுக்கு எடுத்தாலும் திமுக. "ஓம் சக்தி, பராசக்தி"ன்னு சொல்லி திமுகவை திட்டி இன்னைக்கு அவரு எல்லா இடத்துலயும் பேசிட்டு இருக்காரு. இன்னைக்கு அவரு அப்போ எதிர்க்கட்சியா இருந்தாரு. நாம ஆளுங்கட்சியா இருந்தோம், பொறுப்பா கேட்டுக்கிட்டோம். இப்போ நம்ம வாய்ப்பு. இப்போ நாம திருப்பி கொடுக்கணுமா, வேண்டாமா? நிச்சயம் செய்வீங்களா? இன்னைக்கு மதுராந்தகத்துலயும் தாராபுரத்துலயும் 6-ஆம் தேதி சட்டமன்ற இடைத்தேர்தல். இப்பதான தேர்தல் முடிஞ்சது; நாலு மாசம் தான் ஆச்சு. ஏப்ரல் 23-ஆம் தேதி தேர்தல் முடிஞ்சது. இப்ப எதுக்கு இந்த இடைத்தேர்தல் வந்துச்சு? இது இயற்கையா வந்த இடைத்தேர்தலா? இந்த இடைத்தேர்தலை யாரு திணிச்சா? இந்த இடைத்தேர்தலுக்கு யார் காரணம்? ஒரு கட்சி ஆட்சி அமைக்கணும்னா அதற்கு குறைந்தபட்சம் 118 சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் ஜெயிக்கணும். மொத்தம் 234 தொகுதி, அதுல 118 எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் ஜெயிக்கணும். இப்ப இருக்கக்கூடிய கரகட்ட கோஷ்டி ஜெயிச்சது வெறும் 107 இடங்கள் தான். மக்கள் இந்த ஆட்சிக்கு முழு சப்போர்ட் கொடுக்கல, அறுதிப் பெரும்பான்மை கொடுக்கல. வெறும் 107 இடங்கள் தான் கொடுத்தாங்க. அப்பறம் எப்படி இவங்க ஆட்சி அமைச்சாங்க? நம்மகிட்ட பிச்சை கேட்டு, நம்ம தலைவர் போட்ட பிச்சையில, திமுக போட்ட பிச்சையில, திமுகவுடைய வாக்குகளை வச்சு, உடன்பிறப்புகளுடைய உழைப்பை வச்சு, நம்ம தலைவருடைய மூஞ்சிய காட்டி, திராவிட மாடல் ஆட்சியுடைய சாதனைகளை சொல்லி வாக்கு கேட்டு ஜெயிச்சு, இன்னைக்கு நம்ம கூட கூட்டணியா இருந்தவங்க அந்தப் பக்கம் போயி அவங்களுக்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவிக்கிறாங்க. என்ன சொன்னாங்க? கவர்னர் ஆட்சி வந்திடக்கூடாது, மீண்டும் தேர்தல் வந்திடக்கூடாது அப்படின்னு சொல்லிட்டு சில தலைவர்கள், கூட்டணிக் கட்சிகள் தலைவர்கிட்ட சொல்லிட்டு போனாங்க. ஆனா சில துரோகிக் கூட்டம் தலைவர்கிட்ட சொல்லாம, நம்மகிட்ட சொல்லாமையே இரவோடு இரவா திருட்டுத்தனமா போனாங்க. அது யாருன்னு உங்களுக்குத் தெரியும். எந்த நேரம் வந்தாலும் நமக்கு யார் துரோகம் பண்ணாங்களோ அவங்கள மறக்கவும் கூடாது, மன்னிக்கவும் கூடாது. நிச்சயம் மறக்க மாட்டீங்க, மன்னிக்க மாட்டீங்கன்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு இருக்கு. இப்படித்தான் அவரு ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தாரு. அதுலயாவது அவருக்கு திருப்தி ஆச்சா? இல்ல. எந்த நேரமும் கூட்டணிக் கட்சிகள் உடைச்சிட்டு போயிடுவாங்க. ஏன், இப்போ இங்க மதுராந்தகத்துல கூட கூட்டணி வச்சிருக்கக்கூடிய கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி ஆளுங்கட்சியை எதிர்த்து நிக்கிறாங்க. கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி என்ன சொல்றாங்க?
